What better way of taking in the sights and sounds of the country than rambling along on a good old-fashioned horse-drawn hayride?
Pitch and Patch will take your group on a ride through ifarm’s grounds and out into the surrounding roads. When there is adequate snowfall, you can also join us for a sleigh ride!
Those who are passionate about horses can schedule time to be a part of grooming and harnessing the horses. Pitch and Patch were bred and trained by the Amish: they are quite safe to greet and enjoy the opportunity to work as a team, exercise, and solicit carrots. Children especially delight in meeting (and feeding) our gentle giants.
The adventures last 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the desire of the group. We have a small carriage that can handle four people, a wagon that holds eight, and a larger wagon that can carry up to fifteen people. Groups also have the option to explore different facets of ifarm, including meeting our Shetland sheep, touring our extensive permaculture gardens, and visiting our painstakingly restored historic buildings to better understand the lives of the Towne Family.
