ifarm Sheep Fleece to Spun Wool$ 275.00General Admission to ENTIRE three-class series (March 30, April 6, and April 13)

In this workshop series, fiber artist Zwitsa Kachinski of Meraki Handwoven will walk you through the journey of transforming an ifarm fleece (from happy ifarm Shetland sheep!) to rich spun wool.

The series meets in three workshops (on March 30, April 6, and April 13) from 12 to 4 pm. In the first two weeks, you will meet the ifarm Shetland sheep, choose sections of soft fleece, wash the fiber, and card the wool on both hand carders and a drum carder. In the final workshop, Zwitsa will guide you through the process of spinning your yarn on a spinning wheel!

You will leave the class with the yarn you make as well as the skills and resources to make your own wool at home. Students take to spinning on different levels- It is our goal to make sure that each participant has enough yarn to knit a headband, though many will make enough to knit a hat.

Our Shetland sheep have different colors- You will be able to choose from an ebony black, a creamy white, and a rich brown! The class size will be kept very small, with six students, so you have lots of hands-on time with the instructor.

In the unlikely case of cancellation and rescheduling of a day due to weather, we will send out an email to all registrants at least 12 hours before the event. We will also send out an update on our facebook page. You can read about our cancellation policy here.
