Experienced naturalist and tracker Bob Metcalfe will lead a group on a fall tracking experience. Bob has been a Maine Guide for over thirty years and has extensive knowledge of New England wildlife. Come learn about the magic and mysteries adjacent to your own home, as local wildlife ramp up activity before the winter.
Bob will begin with a short presentation on useful tracking theory, followed by an educational hike on our historical property and adjacent trails. Bob will share his insights into the secret world of woodland birds and animals through the messages written in their tracks. There will be particular focus on the ways we can recognize signs of birds throughout the forest. Participants will leave with tracking tips to understand the movement of wildlife in the forest.
This event is open to all ages, however, very small children should be carried, and not brought in a stroller. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy, waterproof shoes, as the trails may be muddy. This event will run, rain or shine!
