Our community drumming circle is a space for making music, releasing stress, and enjoying the beauty of nature at ifarm. It meets on the third Thursday of each month, from May until October. The circle creates a powerful group drumbeat while the sun sets.
The workshop is led by skilled drummer Kristine Malpica. Each class will begin with thirty minutes of instruction on different strokes and drumbeats, followed by an hour of free expression and play, as the group creates a unique rhythm together.
This circle is perfect for new drummers and experienced players alike. Feel free to bring percussion instruments or play the ones provided. All ages are welcome!
Preregistration is highly preferred as it helps us to gauge the group size!
We will meet outside when possible, but if there is inclement weather we will meet in our woodstove-heated carriage house, which has excellent acoustics.
In the case of cancellation due to weather, we will send out an email to all registrants at least 12 hours before the event. We will also send out an update on our facebook page. You can read about our cancellation policy here.
